IN 1985 PRUE AND DAVID RUDD INTRODUCED A NEW RANGE OF DRY CURED BACON, SAUSAGES AND PUDDINGS TO THE IRISH MARKET, USING PIGS PRODUCED ON THEIR OWN FARM, USING RECIPES DEVELOPED BY PRUE AND SELLING UNDER THE BRAND NAME RUDD’S.

THE BUSINESS GREW RAPIDLY, EMBRACING FAMILY MEMBERS, AND ACHIEVING WIDESPREAD ENDORSEMENT FROM THE BUYING PUBLIC.

IN 2004 FOLLOWING A DIFFICULT AND UNFORSEEN TRADING PERIOD, THE RUDD BRAND WAS ACQUIRED BY A THIRD PARTY AND CONTINUES TO TRADE BUT WITHOUT ANY INVOLVEMENT OR ENDORSEMENT FROM THE RUDD FAMILY.

BUT THE RUDD EXPERTISE AND QUALITY ETHIC HAS BEEN RE-BORN UNDER THE BRAND NAME PRUE & SIMON’S, A MOTHER AND SON TEAM, A COMBINATION OF CULINARY SKILLS AND BUSINESS EXPERIENCE.
